Privacy Policy

1. Privacy at a glance

Protecting your personal data matters to us. This website is deliberately built to be data-minimal: fonts, scripts, videos and the map are served entirely from our own web space, and we do not use analytics services such as Google Analytics.

2. Controller

Skipperfriends – Andrea Ammelung-Hildebrand

The controller is the natural or legal person who alone or jointly with others determines the purposes and means of processing personal data (such as names, e-mail addresses and the like).

3. Hosting

This website is hosted by Strato AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. When the site is accessed, Strato, acting as our processor, processes technically necessary server log data. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing the website securely and reliably).

4. Server log files

The hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits automatically. These are:

This data is not merged with other data sources. It is collected to ensure the technically error-free presentation and the security of the website. The log data is stored only for as long as necessary for these purposes and is then automatically deleted by the hosting provider.

5. Local storage

So that the site can remember that you have acknowledged this notice, we store this single piece of information solely locally in your browser (localStorage). It does not leave your device and is not transmitted to us or to third parties. This is a technically necessary form of storage for which no consent is required (§ 25(2) TDDDG); in addition we rely on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Your language is not stored – it follows from the address you visit (German pages, or /en/).

6. Contact by e-mail

If you contact us by e-mail (e.g. via service@skipperfriends.de), the details you provide, including the contact details you give, are stored by us in order to handle your enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass this data on without your consent. Processing takes place on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to the performance of a contract or to pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in effectively handling the enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

7. Links to the app stores

The download buttons and QR codes take you to the Apple App Store or Google Play. Data is only transferred to Apple or Google once you click these links. The privacy terms of the respective provider then apply to the processing there.

8. Interactive map

On the Binnen Skipper page you can use an interactive map. The map is only loaded once you scroll down to it.

All parts of the map – map tiles, harbours, zones as well as the labels and symbols – are served from our own server. Displaying the map builds no connections to third-party servers and transmits no data to third parties; only the information under “Server log files” applies. The map content originates from OpenStreetMap contributors and Protomaps; the associated files are served from our own server. No location tracking takes place on the website – your position is neither requested nor processed.

9. Your rights

You have the right at any time to obtain free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the processing (Art. 15 GDPR) and, where applicable, a right to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and a right to object (Art. 21). You can contact us at any time regarding this and any other questions about data protection. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. The competent authority is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 27, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.

10. SSL / TLS encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL / TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser’s address line switching from “http://” to “https://”.
